I used to hate Mondays. Even pretty recently I used to dread them. There's just something about the weekend that makes you feel so optimistic and relaxed. Even though I don't have a "job", I know that Monday means it's back to the same old routine.
But seriously, I think choosing joy for my word of 2014 has really done something for my mood. I honestly have felt incredibly joyful the past several days, even though nothing all that notably great has happened. It's making me realize that your outlook on things, your attitude toward life, really has so much influence on how things go.
So now, I'm not really feeling that normal Monday blah feeling. Even though Arsen has to work and it's just another day with nothing special or "fun" planned, I'm actually looking forward to it. I mean, I get to wake up, snuggle my baby, play with him and my sweet little dog all day...what's to complain about there? I am so lucky that this is what I get to do with my every day, and I am making a constant effort to be appreciative and thankful for all that I have. Also, my little brain has been on overdrive lately thinking about all of the things I want to do with my life, with this blog, with my little DIY project type ideas....I can't seem to turn it off. So every day I wake up excited to make some new plans and gain a little more clarity about what I actually want.
So Happy Monday to all of you lovely little friends of mine! Even if you have to get up early and go to work at a job that you aren't in love with, I hope you find some joy in your day. I remember oh-so-vividly how tough Monday's were for me (heck, most days were rough) when I had an 8 to 5, and I know it's not easy to get motivated. I mean, I hope every single one of you have a job that you just adore and you wake up on Monday morning full of excitement to start another week...but if that's not the case, then I hope your day is just wonderful nonetheless :)
And if you haven't done so, be sure to enter to win a gorgeous 8"x10" canvas print from Easy Canvas Prints! I am in loooove with mine, and I want you to have one, too!
