The holiday season is upon us, people! I am SO excited about the next two months. I have always, always loved everything about the holidays, and now that I've got little Grayson to share them with, I am practically giddy with excitement.
I mean, what's not to love about this time of year? I love seeing my extended family that I only see a few times a year. I love dressing all warm and cozy. I love fires in the fireplace and cups of hot chocolate. I love presents (giving and getting if I'm being honest). And I just love how every place you go feels a little bit magical when it's all decked out in Christmas decor.
Surely I'm not alone here? I hear people complaining about the fact that they put Christmas stuff out in the stores earlier every year, and the Christmas music plays too soon, and blah blah blah. I say bring it on! I'm not kidding you, I fully intend to start blasting my Christmas Pandora stations on a regular basis in the next few days. And Christmas decor will be soon to follow.
I also tend to be a little more thankful, a little more grateful for what I have. I don't think it's necessarily "Thanksgiving" that makes me feel that way, I think this time of year just gives me warm and fuzzy feelings. I also am much more aware of those who don't have the luxuries, the family, and the ability to celebrate the way that I do. I'm hoping that as Grayson grows up I can show him in my actions that we are incredibly fortunate, and that we should always give back to those who are in need. I've heard of families taking their kids to volunteer at soup kitchens or homeless shelters, and I think that's an amazing thing for kids to experience. I've always been very aware of just how blessed I've been, and I want my children to grow up with the same appreciation.
So Happy Holidays!!! I don't care that it's waaaayyyy to early to say it, I'm doing it. Soak up the next couple of months, friends. It truly is the best time of the year.

From October 31st - January 1st, it is one party/gathering/get-together after another. I love it! We tend to not have anything Christmas going on until Thanksgiving night then it is full steam ahead. :)

ReplyDeleteSo with you on this one. I had Halloween and Thanksgiving decorations up in September, hoping it would hurry fall along. Now I hope the days go slowly, because this is without a doubt the best time of year!
